Phil Heflin is a physical education teacher at New Richmond Middle School where he also coaches 7th grade basketball. A graduate of Carrollton High School, Heflin received his BS in physical education from the University of Akron and his masters in sports administration from Xavier University. He also has coached JV baseball, JV volleyball and 8th grade football. He and his wife Lisa are the parents of Chase and Cade Heflin.
"I am looking forward to working with the golf team this season. The team will be very young, so the younger players will gain a lot of experience. I feel this will bode well for the future of New Richmond Golf," said Heflin. "It has been a successful program in the past and I am looking forward to building upon that success." |

New Richmond is the home of Justin Fender, the 2001 Ohio High School Division II golf champion. Justin shot rounds of 70 and 67 for a 7-under-par total of 137 on Ohio State's Scarlet Course to win overall medalist by 6 strokes. He played college golf at Xavier University.
