Lady Lions rebuild after sectional championship season

Coach Julie Mihalik Shepherd faces a rebuilding year after losing seven senior starters from the 2009 season which saw New Richmond finish strong with a 11-1 win over then No. 1 ranked team in the state, Western Brown, and then a sectional championship.

Lady Lions softball coach Julie Mihalik

Julie Mihalik Shepherd won a Division II sectional title in her first year as coach of the Lady Lions softball team. However, the highlight of her first year was an 11-1 win over then state No. 1 ranked Western Brown. Julie teaches American and Advanced History at New Richmnd HIgh School. An outstanding athlete in high school at Hillsboro, Julie played college soccer at Shawnee State. She also serves as an assistant varsity and JV girls soccer coach at New Richmond.
