Lions must replace SBAAC players of the year
New Richmond will be the defendiing Southern Buckeye Academic and Athletic Conference champion in both girls and boys tennis.
Terri Flamm takes over the Lady Lions tennis program this fall from Tina Grippa, who guided the Lady Lions to the 2008 Southern Buckeye girls tennis championship.
Repeating will not be an easy task for the Lady Lions, who must replace SBAAC player of the year Katilyn Reid (pictured seated second from the left).
In the spring, boys SBAAC coach-of-the-year Rylan Shebesta will be trying to repeat as SBAAC champions without SBAAC player of the year Tyler Esham (pictured standing second from left). His 2008 Lions tennis team won the SBAAC title with a 15-1 record, earning Shebesta league coach of the year honors. Read the Clermont Sun story
Also lost to graduation were first-team SBAAC selections Ethan Johnson and Calleb Theiss and second-team SBAAC picks Dan Heflin, Nick Groman and Eric Hays.
Reid has signed with Bellarmine University and Tyler Isham with the College of Mt. St. Joseph. Heflin plans to play tennis at Muskingum College.
