Extracurricular Activities

Monroe has some school-sponsored clubs that your child could become involved with if they choose.

Youth Power- The basic foundational emphasis of the Youth Power Club is saying no to drugs, but the vast majority of our students are currently choosing a drug free life.
These great drug free students do need to learn other winning ways to give them the power and focus to develop to their fullest potential.  This is what the Youth Power program is all about.  Each month we will focus on the development of a positive habit, knowing that a child’s habits will greatly influence their future. For more information  contact Carole Snider at 553-3183.

Student Council-  Student Council members are elected to serve on the council by their peers at the beginning of each school year. Encourage your child to be an active member of their class and run for student council. If you would like more information contact Adrian Vance at 553-3183.

Art and Earth Club- Art and Earth Club is led by our new art teacher, Adrian Vance. It is putting together the two elements of art and environmental awareness. If your child loves art or would like to learn more about the environment contact Adrian Vance for more details at 553-3183.

Winners Club- The Monroe Elementary Winners Club was formed in the spring of 2007.  Carole Snider, Monroe Counselor, is the club’s sponsor.   The club features a very positive approach in teaching all children that they are indeed unique and special - winners.  We will be learning the Winners Club pledge and focusing on a positive, winning trait each time we meet.  All of us are bombarded with negative messages from many sources.  Children begin to internalize these messages and can develop the attitude that they are not good enough.  The Winners Club positive, fun approach will help eliminate this negative attitude. If you would like more information contact Carole Snider at 553-3183.
