Congratulations to the Varsity volleyball team on their nail-biting victory over Clermont Northeastern. After splitting the first 4 games the Lady Lions battled back & forth winning the fifth game 15-12. Amberly Newberry and Katie Schumacher lead the offense with 14 and 11 kills. Leading in the back line, Amberly Newberry and Brittney Strunk each had over over 50 digs. Robyn Corbin was also a key to the Lions success as she had 5 aces and 18 assists. Congratulations to the JV volleyball team on their victory against CNE last night. The JV Lions defeated CNE 25-20 and in overtime 26-24. Emily Grooms had 16 attacks and 4 kills to help seal this victory. Camie Keets, Sarah Shoemaker, Briana Rose supported the team with many attacks. Our defensive player of the evening was Rachel Heflin with many saves and digs which helped the front row attacks on CNE. A great job was done by all. The JV Lions will play against Mariemont and Batavia on Saturday 9/6. Congratulations to the girls tennis team on their win over East Clinton, 5-0, on Thursday. Winners were Kaitlyn Reid, Katie Bird, Kody Blankenship, Sarah Clancy, Tessa Ober, Melissa Ohntrup, and Colleen Grimes. The tennis team is now 4-1. Congratulations to the Varsity soccer team on their 3-1 victory over Fayetteville last night. Scoring for the lady lions was Kelsey Hensley with one goal, and Cassie Grooms with two goals, one of them being a header. Meagan Troxell had an assist. Congratulations to the girls JV soccer team for their 4-1 victory over Fayetteville. Scoring for the lady lions was Courtney Grogan with 2 goals, Sarah Molitor and Molly Heiden each chipping in one. The Lions golf team fell to Western Brown at Friendly Meadows yesterday. Matt Kelly and Tyler Flood were leading scorers for the Lions. National Honor Society will have a meeting next Wednesday after school in room 203. There will be a Student Council meeting Friday right after in room 112. Everyone should plan to attend.
