Scholarships 

AXA Achievement Scholarship-Scholarships awarded to students who set and reach ambitious goals, demonstrated drive, determination and ability to succeed in college and who have respect of self, family, and community.  The application deadline for this year’s AXA Achievement Scholarship is December 15, 2008.  To learn more about  and download the application got to www.axa-achievement.com

University of Cincinnati-Admission application files must be complete by December 15, 2008 to be considered for all institutional scholarships as well as Cincinnatus Scholarships

Horatio Alger Scholarship-Criteria: 1. enrolled as a high school senior progessing toward graduation in the Spring of 2009  2. intend to pursue a bachelor’s (4 year) degree 3. Critical financial need-preferable $50,00 or lower adjusted gross income per family  4. involvement in co-curricular ands community service activities. 5. U.S. citizenship  Students must submit an online application at www.horatioalger.org.scholarships   Studetns must complete the application process by October 30, 2008.

COCA-COLA SCHOLARS FOUNDATION:  250 scholarships will be awarded totaling $3,000,000 to well-rounded young men and women.  Students must apply online at www.coca-colascholars.org by October 31, 2008.  Applicants are evaluated on the following: Demonstrated leadership in their in their school, Commitment to the community, Academic achievement, & Part-time employment.

America’s Mensa’s annual scholarship essay contest-open to any person enrolled or accepted for enrollment at an accredited American Institution for post-secondary education for the 2008-2009 academic year.  Essays must be postmarked before January 15, 2009.  The application from may be duplicated as required.  It may be downloaded in Word Document or PDF format from http://www.mensafoundation.org/scholarships.

KFC Colonel’s Scholars Program—is dedicated to assisting students with financial need who plan to pursue a bachelor’s degree at a public institution within their legal state of residence.  To qualify, a student must be: 

*graduating form high school this academic year (between 12/1/08 and 8/31/09)

*maintaining a minimum high school cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher

 *enrolling in a public, in-state college or university (start date no later than 9/30/09)

*pursuing a bachelor’s degree

*a U.S citizen or permanent resident

Students complete their application online at www.kfcscholars.org   The online application will be available from December 1, 2008 through February 10, 2009.

U.S Bank Internet Scholarship Program –Thirty $1,000.00 scholarships awarded in a random drawing.  No essays.  No minimum GPA required.  Program runs October through February.  Apply online at www.usbank.com/studentbanking

Burger King Scholars Program-to obtain information about the eligibility criteria, please visit our WEB site at www.bk.com/scholars 

Discover Colleges Scholarship-Discover Colleges provides a FREE private college information service as well as a $2,500 private college scholarship drawing.  Any student can simply log onto www.discovercolleges.com to request information automatically be entered in the $2,500.00 scholarship drawing.

McKelvey Foundation Entrepreneurial Scholarship-to qualify: 10 graduate from high school in the spring of 2009 2) attend a 4 year college within the 50 states 3) own and operate a genuine business, non-profits are eligible 4) have at least one paid employee 5) complete online application by January 25, 2009.  More information at www.mckelveyfoundation.org
