8th Grade Highlights Night: Monday, March 16th - 6:00 - 7:00 New Richmond High School auditorium and cafeteria New Richmond High School principal Diana Spinnati, along with New Richmond and Grant Career Center counselors, selected staff members and IACP facilitators will host an informative hour designed to familiarize our current eighth graders and their parents with various aspects of NRHS and the US Grant Career Center. This special program will provide the opportunity for students and parents to learn about academic and vocational course offerings, prerequisites for vocational/technical programs at Grant Career Center, requirements for graduation, suggestions for college bound students, and the Ohio Granduation Test. Additionally, information regarding extra-curricular clubs, organizations, athletics, and opportunities in the arts will be available for those interested. There will be time for questions and answers. You will also meet your student's Individual Academic and Career Plan facilitator and will be asked to schedule an Individual Academic and Career Plan meeting with him/her. All Ohio eighth graders are required to complete an outlined academic and career plan. An IACP meeting helps parents and students plan for the future. Please mark this date on your calendar. Grant Career Center will provide a Pizza Party Lunch for the students on the IACP list with the best parent and student attendance at Highlights Night (most credit per family is two - one student and one guardian). Plan now to join us as we put the finishing touches on your student's NRMS experience and move on to an exciting and rewarding time at NRHS and/or Grant Career Center and beyond! Questions? Please contact Terry Miller, counselor at NRMS 553-3161 or Jim Reaker, counselor at NRHS 553-3191.

Placing in 6th in Anatomy were Marisa David and Zach Moss, Placing in 6th in Elevated Bridge were Newton McCollum and Rachael Trowbridge, Placing in 6th in Reach for the Stars were Newton McCollum and Sarah Jones, Placing in 6th in Science Crime Busters were Marisa David and Zach Manning, Placing in 5th in Road Scholar were Luke Gilday and Maddie Wallace, Placing in 4th in Write it, Do It were Sydney Clancy and Sarah Jones, Placing in 3rd in Ecology were Rachael Trowbridge and Alex White, Placing in 2nd in Meteorology were Sarah Jones and Rachael Trowbridge, Placing in 1st in Dynamic Planet were Sydney Clancy and Sarah Jones, Placing in 1st in Pentathlon were Luke Gilday, Morgan Olenick, Maddie Wallace, and Alex White. MVP of the tournament goes to Sarah Jones, who competed in 4 events, more than any other player, and medaled in all four. The Science Olympiad team would like to thank everyone who helped and supported us! Special thanks to Mrs. Grippa, Mrs. Hughes, and Ms Hauserman for their time and expertise. Mr. Grischow would like team members to know how proud he is of all of them for a great job! Go Lions!
