In an effort to hopefully generate more interest in the sale of the old bus garage on Front Street, the New Richmond Exempted Village School District is having the underground storage tanks removed.

The removal process started on February 24. Once the tanks are removed, the soil will be tested. After all related work is finished, the district plans to advertise the building and property for sale.

Last year the bus garage was appraised for $88,000. The property was later advertised for sale at auction as is, including the underground storage tanks. The board received one bid, which was rejected, for $10,000 with conditions.
