New Richmond Announces Summer Food Service Program

With another successful school year winding down, students are preparing to enjoy the spoils of a well-earned summer vacation. Though students will be enjoying their time off, the New Richmond Exempted Village School District will remain hard at work, especially our food services team. NREVSD is proud to announce the return of the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), which has been up and running now for six consecutive summers.

The SFSP will kick off on May 29 and run through August 10 at New Richmond Elementary. Breakfast will be served from 8:00 am to 9:30 am and lunch will be available beginning at 10:30 am and run though 12:30pm. Thanks to funding from the US Department of Agriculture and the Ohio Department of Education, both breakfast and lunch are available at no cost to children 18 years of age and younger.

Last summer, the SFSP was able to provide over 12,300 breakfast and lunch meals to our students who were on our main campus. Recipients of these meals included athletes at practice, band members at camp, students attending the summer reading program, the New Richmond Christian Childcare, and even the occasional walk-in.

We run a great summer food service program that includes nutritious meals,” stated Brenda Young, Director of Food Services for NREVSD. “The food service department is fortunate to have staff that works during the summer to make this program at New Richmond a success.”
