As many of you know, New Richmond's famed peacock, Jacob, died in October due to an accident earlier this year. Unfortunately, there was an outstanding bill for Jacob at All Creatures Animal Hospital in Amelia. New Richmond students and their band teacher, Paul Glader, have written a song dedicated to Jacob and decided to raise funds at their winter concerts to pay the debt for their beloved fallen mascot.
Whatever money is left after paying the bill at All Creatures will be donated to the Spencer Park Aviary in New Richmond, where Jacob received ongoing care after he was released from the hospital.
This is a fantastic opportunity for every student to learn how they can use their talents for a great cause and to benefit their community. We spoke to Mr. Glader and Sierrah Kennon, who had the idea to raise funds, about using their talent for such a great cause.
