New Richmond Area Ministries Looks To Impact The Community This School Year

As students soak up their last weeks of summer, they also have their eyes set on August 17, the start of another school year. While families prepare for this time of the year, one group of locals is joining together to make sure this transition back is an easy one for the families of New Richmond.

On August 10, beginning at 6pm, New Richmond Area Ministries (NRAM) will be hosting a back-to-school community dinner at the VFW Hall in the village of New Richmond. At this dinner, NRAM will be handing out school supplies to elementary aged children.

“The whole idea behind this effort is to build up the community. We’re here to show the community that we are family and it’s important to take care of your brothers and sisters,” stated Ron Stang of NRAM. “We hope that others will see that this is a good thing and something worth getting involved with.”

Though countless churches, organizations, and local banks and businesses are involved, NRAM is still seeking donations. From traditional school supplies such as pencils or glue sticks to classroom supplies like clorox wipes or tissues, everything that is donated will be given away.

“People want to get involved and make a positive impact and this is just an avenue for them,” stated Stang. “We’re thankful to all those who have contributed and we simply hope that this will best prepare the kids to learn.”

“We are very thankful for the efforts of Mr. Stang, NRAM, and all of the people who donate these needed school supplies for the students of NREVSD,” said NREVSD Superintendent Adam Bird. “Mr. Stang was formerly a teacher at New Richmond Middle School and knows the importance of making sure that students have the supplies they need for great start.”

Donations can be dropped off at the New Richmond Church of the Nazarene this Wednesday, August 2 from 5:30-6:30pm. For a full list of supplies, see below:
