NRMS Leadership Conference: Building for tomorrow, today!

In 2015, New Richmond Middle School began hosting a series of Leadership Conferences throughout the school year. Each year students, grades fifth through eighth, are grouped into cohorts of 60-70 students and are encouraged to attend at least one conference before leaving middle school.

Building on the framework of the NREVSD Mission Statement, the purpose of these Leadership Conferences is to prepare students for the highest levels of personal achievement with the ability to demonstrate confidence, leadership and responsibility.

“The program is  a combination of real life stories and dynamic activities. The learning takes place in a stimulating and enjoyable format that promotes personal growth while teaching the concepts of leadership, teamwork, empowerment, problem solving, and communication,” stated NRMS Counselor, Mrs. Gulley. “When students step outside their comfort zones, they gain experience, they learn, and therefore, they grow as individuals.”

Time and time again, this three hour workshop has proven to show a positive transformation in the lives of the students in attendance. Gulley stated, “It is a priceless experience as students experience heightened confidence, a stronger belief in themselves, and leave with a commitment to making a positive difference in their school.”

The next Leadership Conference will take place at NRMS on January 18*. As always, NREVSD is proud to not only be investing in the lives of our students in the classroom, but beyond the walls as well. As a district, we are confident in a bright future because of the firm foundation we are building today!

*The leadership conference has been cancelled and will be re-scheduled in March. Please check back for updates.
