NRMS students walk for Diabetes Research

New Richmond Middle School’s Student Council had a special reason for choosing the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation as the beneficiary for its 2016 Walk-a-Thon which raised $2995.

“Melissa Ewald is our student council representative with Type 1 Diabetes and we split the proceeds 50/50 with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF),” said NRMS Intervention Specialist Deborah Loving, who along with NRNS teacher Karla Painter advises the Student Council.

Melissa Ewald joined the two Student Council advisers to present a check for $1500 to JDRF representative Nick Wagner on May 20.
