Cece Gilpin wins NRE’s Spelling Bee

Cece Gilpin is New Richmond Elementry’s Spelling Bee champion for the 2014-15 school year and will take an online test in January to see if she qualifies for the regional spelling bee sponsored by WCPO News Channel 9 to be held Saturday, February 21 at Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy.

Cece will receive a $25.00 gift card to Target, courtesy of NRE PTO, and a one-year free membership to Britannica Online for kids. Logan also receives the Britannica membership.

Logan Crooks was runner-up among the 11 contestants in the NRE competition. Logan also receives the Britannica membership.

Fourth grade participants were Zack Audas, Lexi Childers, Sydney Maus, Dawson Pennington and David Weber. Fifth graders competing were Logan Crooks, Julia Keith and Cortney Smith.

Sixth grade spellers were Becca Davis, Ronja Frigard and Cece Gilpin.
