New Richmond Board celebrates student success

The New Richmond Board of Education recognized New Richmond High School sophomore Ellie Arkus for winning 1st place in the third annual Cincinnati High School Art Students Plein Air Art Show.

The New Richmond Board of Education recognized New Richmond High School sophomore Ellie Arkus for winning 1st place in the third annual Cincinnati High School Art Students Plein Air Art Show.


Ellie’s winning artwork was a view of Bellevue as seen from the Overlook in Eden Park. The art piece was a black and color marker creation titled “Bellevue View.”


More than 30 student artists representing 17 different high schools participated in the Plein Air art competition and a total of nearly 50 artworks were created and included in the judging.


Arkus received a $500 cash prize as the art competition’s winner and the honor of having her artwork displayed for one year at public locations in the Cincinnati area. “Bellevue View” is currently on display at the Cincinnati Art Museum.
