IMPORTANT DATES FOR THE END OF THE SCHOOL YEAR

Dear Parents and Guardians,
It is hard to believe but we are winding down our 2016-17 school year. We have had a very busy and productive year and I know the next 8 weeks will be just as busy. We have several school events and important dates to keep in mind between now and the end of the school year.
*Spring Break - March 27-31 - NO SCHOOL
*Spring Pictures - Tuesday, April 11th
*Spring Concert - Monday, May 8th at 6:00pm.(Date on the printed school calendar is incorrect)
*AIR Testing will begin after Spring Break. Testing dates are as follows:
7th & 8th Language Arts - April 5th and 6th
7th & 8th Math - April 11th & 12th
8th Only Science - April 18th and 19th
*Last Day of School Awards Ceremony/8th Grade Promotion Ceremony - May 25th
*Ceremony will begin at 8:00am - All families are welcome and invited to attend.
The ceremony typically lasts until 9:30am.

I think that most of you understand that this past quarter of school has been one of the most difficult that we as educators have faced and that may be the case for many of your children as well. While trying to process the passing of Mrs. Keith we have leaned on each other at times over the past weeks. We appreciate the outpouring of support and sympathy and were overwhelmed to see how this wonderful community came together to prop us up in a time of need. We have gotten back to the routines of school but we will forever be bonded with this group of your children. While we always strive to educate students, sometimes life and experience can be the best teacher. I am so proud of the maturity and compassion our students showed to each other as well as to our teachers. I thank you all for everything you do to help make our district so special.
