UPDATED INFORMATION 9/4: After meeting again with representatives from Duke Energy, they have agreed to work on Saturdays and Sundays instead of Thursdays and Fridays. Therefore, the Long Hill section of Bethel-New Richmond Road will be open to all traffic, including our busses, on Thursdays and Fridays between September 1 and October 11, 2018.

Please see below for the original communication on Aug 30, 2018 by NREVSD.

From September 1 through October 11, 2018  the Long Hill section of Bethel-New Richmond Rd will experience road closures each day between 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.  It will close again from 4:00 p.m. to dusk. The reason is for the Duke Energy power line project on Long Hill.

During these daily, intermittent road closures of Long Hill, Short Hill will remain open to 2-way traffic with traffic controllers at the top and bottom of Short Hill that will safely permit 2-way traffic.

These intermittent road closures will not affect the start or dismissal of New Richmond High School and New Richmond Middle School.  It will not affect the dismissal of New Richmond Elementary.

However, it will affect the bus transportation of New Richmond Elementary students in the morning.  We will not put our busses on Short Hill so they will detour around to Frank Willis Memorial Road to deliver students to New Richmond Elementary.  Students who live on Long Hill will be contacted by their bus driver to establish a pick up point in the morning.
