No, this item is being provided to select families free of charge.
What happens if the Hotspot is lost/stolen/damaged?
There is a $60 replacement fee if the device is lost/stolen/damaged
Can the hotspot be utilized for general Internet use at our home?
No, the Hotspot should only be used for educational purposes only.
How are families selected to receive a Hotspot?
The selections are based on financial need and families who identified that they do not have Internet access at home.
How long can we utilize the Hotspot in our home?
The Hotspot will be available to you for the remainder of the school year and is required to be returned back to school no later than June 1, 2021.
Is there content filtering available on the Hotspot to block inappropriate content and websites?
There is some basic filtering in place, however parental guidance is required to prevent Students from accessing inappropriate content online.
How often should the Hotspot be charged?
A full charge should last all day, but we recommend that you keep the Hotspot plugged in so it's always available.
Our Internet speeds are very slow with the Hotspot, is that normal?
Depending on how close you are to a Verizon 4G tower will determine how fast/slow your Internet speeds are.
What happens if the Hotspot stops working?
Please contact your school so we can arrange a replacement for you.
