The calendar for the 2020-2021 school year was approved Feb. 18 by the Board of Education with one minor change from the proposed version presented in January.
The dates for the Safety Waiver Day and teacher/staff in-service were switched to better accommodate the schedules of local emergency workers who are typically busy on election day, Superintendent Tracey Miller explained.
The first day for students in the 2020-2021 school year is Aug. 17. Teachers report for a workday Aug. 12. A District Staff Meeting/Workday is scheduled for Aug. 13, and a Building Staff Meeting/Workday on Aug. 14.
The last day of school for students is May 21. There’s a teacher workday on May 24.
