Dear Parents/Guardians,

I think we all realized the longer the stay at home order was in place, the more likely it was that we would not be returning to school this year. Yet, when Governor Mike DeWine announced on Monday that schools would stay closed for the remainder of this academic school year, many people I spoke with expressed their sadness. Our school district is a major part of the fabric of our community, and there is now a hole there that is impossible to fill until we are able to open again.

Rest assured, the faculty and staff of NREVSD will do everything we can to continue to deliver quality learning experiences to your children for the remainder of the school year. Though it seems much longer, we have only been doing remote learning and teaching for a month. It remains a work in progress. We recognize there are challenges but please, let's continue to work together as a community to make the best of the situation for the betterment of our kids.

For a few weeks now, the administrative team has been creating a to-do list focusing on what would need to be done if the governor extended the school closure period to the end of this academic year. Cleaning out lockers, returning Chromebooks, and returning medications, were among the considerations. Keeping proper social distancing will make this challenging, but as soon as specific plans are developed we will share them with you. We will use time to our advantage and take several days to see what restrictions get lifted and what exactly "Phase One Reopening,” as referenced by Governor DeWine, looks like. There isn't a need to be first, but there is a need to do it right.

As a reminder, if you have not already done so, please download your absentee ballot application from the Clermont County Board of Elections website for the April 28th primary. You can do it by clicking this link: https://boe.clermontcountyohio.gov/

You must submit an absentee vote-by-mail application by noon Saturday, April 25, 2020 to receive a ballot in the mail. We need our community to participate more than ever in this election.

Thank you all for your understanding and collaboration. With the passing of each day, we get closer to the end of the tunnel!

Sincerely,

Tracey Miller

Superintendent of Schools
