Freshman and Sophomore parents, good morning!

I wanted to let you know about our schedule for our MAP testing next week. MAP tests are adaptive tests that we use to measure student progress in certain subjects so we can gauge if we are meeting their needs academically. This data is crucial for future planning and allows us to plan ahead for second semester work. There are several courses where we will be testing our students including ELA 1, ELA 2, Geometry, Algebra 1, and Biology.

Our English tests are longer than the others so we need to make sure we provide enough time for our students to complete them in one sitting. So on Monday and Tuesday we will be running a two-hour delay schedule to give our Freshmen and Sophomores enough time to complete our English tests. Now, although we will be running a two-hour delay bell schedule, our buses will be running at the normal time on both of those days.  Your students will get on the bus at the same time as they normally do, we will just be running a two-hour delay bell schedule to give those students the adequate time in the morning to complete the tests. Our junior and senior students will be arriving two hours late on Monday and Tuesday.

So our schedule for next week will be as follows:

  • Monday - ELA MAP testing - 2-hour delay schedule (Freshmen and Sophomores report at normal start time of 7:35 a.m. to test)

  • Tuesday - ELA MAP testing - 2-hour delay schedule (Freshmen and Sophomores report at normal start time of 7:35 a.m. to test)

  • Wednesday - Working Wednesday delayed start (all students - buses also running on a one-hour delay)

  • Thursday - Regular bell schedule

  • Friday - Regular bell schedule

The other MAP tests will be done in the classrooms on Wednesday and Thursday.

These tests are very important so please speak to your student about getting a good night's sleep the night before.

If you have any questions, please reach out to the school.

Thanks

Mr. Stewart
