Lions three-peat in SBAAC golf

Nothing is as sweet as a Three-Peat which the Lion Golfers completed at rainy Cedar Trace Golf Course on Saturday. Going in to the final 18 holes the Lions held a 33 stroke lead over Amelia and finished the day winning the League by 64 strokes.

The Lions were led by Medalist and 2013 Player of the Year Junior Chris Mazzaro who fired a three over par 74 on the par 71 course. Juniors Kyle Heidlage and Bryce Kroeger were also named First Team All-League. Junior Daman Abner was named Second Team All-League. Sophomores Chase Heflin and Zack Grissom had a helping hand in  delivering the Lions third consecutive  SBAAC American Division title.

The Lions won the low team score for the second year in a row with a 339 to out distance the Georgetown G-Men who shot a 351 to win the SBAAC National Division.

Coach Heflin was named Coach of the Year for the fourth consecutive year. The Lions will tee it up on Sept. 24 against Anderson before they travel to Sharon Woods on Thursday to begin post-season play. The Lions record now stands at 38-8 on the season.
