During its February meeting, the Board of Education held the first reading of the proposed calendar for the 2022-2023 school year. The Board is expected to vote on the calendar during its meeting of March 14, 2022.
The calendar proposes a staggered start for the 2022-2023 school year to be held Wednesday and Thursday, Aug. 17th and 18th, with all students in session on Friday, Aug. 19th. Winter break will be slightly over two weeks beginning Monday, Dec. 19th. Students will return on Wednesday, Jan. 4th, 2023. The last day of school for students will be Friday, May 26th, 2023.
The only significant difference between this calendar and the one for this school year is the elimination of the PD day for employee safety training, Superintendent Tracey Miller said. Instead, teachers and staff will receive safety training once each month during Delayed Start Working Wednesdays.
