The 2022-2023 School Year Calendar Adopted

During its March 2022 meeting, the Board of Education adopted the calendar for the 2022-2023 school year.

Approval of the calendar officially establishes the first and last days for classes in the 2022-2023 school year along with holidays and more. The 2022-2023 school year will have a staggered start. The first day for grades K, 2, 4, 6, 9, & 10 is Wednesday, Aug. 17th. The first day for students in grades PK, 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 11 & 12 is Thursday, Aug. 18th.  All students are in session on Friday, Aug. 19th. Winter break will be slightly over two weeks beginning Monday, Dec. 19th. Students will return on Wednesday, Jan. 4th, 2023. The last day of school for students will be Friday, May 26th, 2023.

Delayed Start Working Wednesdays will continue next school year. In place for two years, the Delayed Start Working Wednesday program was introduced as a way of providing staff professional development time during COVID-19. During that time, the program has proven both beneficial as a means of providing professional development and success as a cost-cutting measure.

In each of the two years prior to Working Wednesdays, the district spent approximately $50,000 per year providing training and substitute teachers during school days. That cost has been significantly reduced since the introduction of the Delayed Start Working Wednesdays.
