New Richmond Exempted Village School District cafeteria and transportation department workers were out in force March 16 delivering breakfast and lunch packs for students who are on an extended break from school by order of Governor Mike DeWine.

The order is part of the state’s unprecedented effort to limit the spread of COVID-19.

Throughout the extended break, New Richmond cafeteria and transportation department workers will dropoff meals at designated locations throughout the community around 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday throughout the extended break.

The meals are made possible through a waiver procured by Gov. DeWine’s office from the Ohio Department of Agriculture. The focus of the food initiative is to make certain students have access to meals during the extended break. The work of the cafeteria and transportation department members is evidence that not all superheroes wear capes.
