Dear Parents and Guardians,
Thank you to everyone for your flexibility this week as we navigate uncharted waters.

To say this week has been unprecedented is an understatement. But as things change, our district will continue to shift to keep pace with the tide.

We are working in good faith as a district to abide by Governor Mike DeWine’s directive to take action steps to stop the spread of COVID-19. Following this directive means a shift in the way we are doing business today and for the foreseeable future.

Starting at the end of business today:

Our buildings will be closed to the general public until further notice. Some essential personnel will continue to report to our buildings for upkeep and maintenance.

Additionally, the district is suspending its breakfast/lunch dropoff program. Thursday’s drop was the last. We attempted to include enough food to last several days. However, Project Lunchbox plans to take over and maintain the food dropoff effort as long as it is feasibly possible. Thank you Project Lunchbox!

Remote instruction and learning will continue into early April. Next week is our scheduled spring break so no lessons will be offered during this time. Remote learning will resume beginning Monday, March 30. As that date gets closer, we will provide additional information regarding how and where the next blizzard pack can be picked up for students who do not have Internet access.

These are uncertain times for us all, but as Governor DeWine says, we are in this together. Please take care of your health and that of your families. I will continue to provide you with updates as things change, and I expect that they will, in the days and weeks ahead.

Respectfully,
Tracey Miller
Superintendent
New Richmond Exempted Village School District
