The April recipient of the Beth Webster Leading Lion Award is NRMS student Eli Nieter. According to Principal Court Lilly, Eli sets the example of what it's like to be a respectful and positive New Richmond student. For him to be a Leading Lion was an easy choice, and I wish I had a thousand more of him every day.
“Eli is a man of the people,” Mr. Lilly said. “There’s probably not any student at the middle school who doesn’t know who Eli is. He’s one of those kids that when you come into the middle school he makes you feel better just by being around him. He can improve your day. He’s always smiling, always happy to be at school.”
In addition to school, he is busy with a lot of other activities. For the last couple of years, he’s been the head of the middle school recycling program. He’s helped get a little garden started in the office. Eli is often seen in the Village of New Richmond talking to people and feeding the ducks and geese. He loves New Richmond and Cincinnati sports teams. He’s connected with NRHS football Coach Brian Pitzer and will be his assistant during football season.
This weekend, Eli will participate in the Special Olympics being hosted at New Richmond High School for Clermont County, Mr. Lilly said. The event begins at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 23, 2022.
Superintendent Tracey Miller thanked Eli for his contributions to the middle school and district.
“You’re what makes a difference in our district. These buildings are just bricks and mortar and it's what’s inside that makes them come to life. And from what Mr. Lilly says, you make the middle school come to life,” Mr. Miller said.
