NRHS senior Justin Ackerman: Beth Webster Leading Lion for March

According to Principal Joseph Stewart, Justin is the very example of a well-rounded and outstanding student.


We talk a lot about well-rounded students who participate in athletics, academics, and afterschool activities, Mr.Stewart said.


“It’s hard for students to keep that up on all fronts . . .and excel in all areas. Justin Ackerman is beyond exceeding every aspect of his high school experience,” he said.


Mr. Stewart shared just a few highlights of Justin’s high school experience: 

  • Straight A student all four years at NRHS

  • Four years Scholar-Athlete

  • Four years in each varsity basketball and track

  • Two years in the National Honor Society

  • 1,000 point scorer in basketball

  • All-time leading rebounder in basketball

  • Fourth place in 2021 state high jump championship

  • American Legion award recipient

  • Buckeye State attendee

  • West Point Leadership attendee

  • And he’s currently ranked second in the senior class


“To excel in all of those fronts is absolutely amazing for any student we have,” Mr. Stewart said. “It’s my privilege and honor to recommend Justin Ackerman for this award this evening."


After graduation from NRHS, Justin said that he plans to study mechanical engineering either at Purdue University or The Ohio State University.
