Welcome Brett Floyd Treasurer/CFO

The New Richmond Exempted Village School District announces the selection of Brett Floyd as the district’s new treasurer, effective October 1, 2025.

“The Board of Education is excited to welcome Brett to the leadership team of the New Richmond Exempted Village School District,” Board President Jonathan Zimmerman said. “ We look forward to the fresh perspective Mr. Floyd will bring to our district as we continue to address our financial challenges and as we work to educate the most important resource of our community - our children.”

Mr. Floyd brings a wealth of financial experience to the district. He currently serves as the treasurer for the North College Hill City School District. Before that, he served as an accounts payable/payroll specialist at the Hamilton-Clermont Cooperative, learning under current Loveland City Schools treasurer John Espy.

Before his shift to financial work, Mr. Floyd served students in the classroom as a music teacher, most recently in Batavia.

"After teaching for six years in Batavia Local Schools, I am excited to return to Clermont County and serve the community of New Richmond as Treasurer/CFO,” Mr. Floyd said. “I am looking forward to working alongside Mr. Daniels and helping the District navigate its current financial challenges and am confident we will meet those challenges together."

Mr. Floyd replaces Matthew Prichard in the role of NREVSD’s Treasurer and CFO. Mr. Prichard is exiting the district in late September after 25 years in New Richmond.

With the district having placed a 1.25 percent income tax levy on the ballot this November, Mr. Floyd will play a critical role in informing our community about the financial woes caused by the early closure of the Zimmer Power Plant.

"The District has one of the most unique financial stories in Ohio,” Mr. Floyd said. “My mission as a leader is to help communicate that story by presenting accurate data, detailed projections, and providing financial transparency at all times. I still love getting to wear my teacher hat, so please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions. My door is always open and I am happy to help."
