New Richmond Exempted Village School District is excited to unveil a new digital sign at the campus entrance, providing an updated communication tool for families, students, and community members.

The sign will share school announcements, event reminders, student achievements, emergency notifications, and other important updates in a timely and efficient way. It replaces a traditional message board that required staff to manually change individual letters and numbers.

The project cost approximately $30,000 and is funded by rental revenue from the Cincinnati Children’s Clinic on campus. While the initial expense was paid through the district’s General Fund, the cost will be fully offset by this rental revenue.

The clinic center was constructed through a 100% grant-funded project supported by the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission (OFCC) Appalachian Community Grant Program. The facility represented an investment of more than $709,000 and was not funded through district operating dollars.

Under the grant agreement, first-year revenue generated by the clinic must be reinvested in the center or used to promote its services. The district received approval from the OFCC to use a portion of that restricted revenue for the digital sign, which will support communication about the clinic and other campus updates.

After the first year, rental revenue generated through the clinic will become unrestricted and may be used by the district for other educational needs.

The district looks forward to using the new sign as another way to keep families and the community informed and connected. For more information about New Richmond Exempted Village Schools, visit https://www.nrschools.org/
