NREVSD launches new app to report bullying, student safety concerns

As partPoster for Stay Safe. Speak Up!Poster for Stay Safe. Speak Up! of its continued commitment to preventing bullying and promoting a safe school environment, New Richmond Exempted Village School District has partnered with PublicSchoolWORKS, the leading provider of K-12 school safety and compliance programs, to introduce the “Stay Safe. Speak Up!” safety reporting mobile app.

The app is designed to empower students, families, and school staff to prevent bullying and speak up about school safety concerns, including bullying, discrimination, thoughts of suicide, self-harm, and more.

Concerns can be submitted in three ways:

  • Mobile App. Download the Stay Safe. Speak Up! mobile app and enter our unique District Code to submit reports directly from your smartphone. District Code: NREVSD
  • Phone. Call 1-866-547-8362 to leave a voice message or speak with a trained, live attendant. Attendants can initiate contact with various national crisis hotlines if a student needs help in dealing with a personal emergency.
  • Online. Go to the district’s website ( and click on the Stay Safe. Speak Up! button to access the online form from a desktop computer or laptop.

Superintendent Tracey Miller said of the new partnership: “We are pleased to enter this new and meaningful relationship with PublicSchoolWorks. The reporting platform PublicSchoolWorks elevates what the district already had in place. The new reporting platform, which includes an app, offers ease of access and a simple reporting process. With these improvements, we hope that students will be more comfortable in reporting incidents of bullying, discrimination, thoughts of suicide, and other serious concerns.”

The mobile app is part of the PublicSchoolWORKS Stay Safe. Speak Up! Student Safety Reporting System, an extension of the company’s comprehensive anti-bullying and school safety program. The program gives students, families, and staff multiple ways to report safety concerns 24/7, as well as educational resources for staff, students, and parents covering a variety of student bullying, safety, and mental health crises, from depression and suicide to dating violence and gang awareness.

When safety or bullying reports are submitted, key administrators are automatically notified via email – or phone in the case of an emergency – to investigate and resolve reports. All reports are stored in one centralized online location so New Richmond Exempted Village School District can document and investigate incidents and monitor safety trends.

PublicSchoolWORKS President Steve Temming said this about the Stay Safe. Speak Up! Platform. “At the very core of PublicSchoolWORKS is a deep-rooted commitment to the safety and well-being of students and staff. Essential to this commitment is the PublicSchoolWORKS’ Stay Safe. Speak Up! Student Safety Reporting System, which plays a vital role in allowing the school community to communicate any student safety concerns.”
