The event is to honor New Richmond Schools Intervention Specialist Beth Webster. In 2018, Mrs. Webster was diagnosed with high-grade stage 4 Leiomyosarcoma cancer. She has exhausted all of her chemotherapy options, has had countless operations to remove tumors, and has participated in several trial studies.
Despite all the obstacles that she has encountered, Mrs. Webster has faced each challenge with a positive attitude and a smile on her face. She consistently puts her students first and has been a role model for our entire school community. Mrs. Webster is the epitome of a Leading Lion and her impact on the lives of those she encounters will last forever.
A portion of the proceeds from the 5K & Fun Color Run will be used to create a scholarship in Mrs. Webster’s name to be awarded to any NRHS graduate. Organizers hope to award the scholarship annually.
