I want to say a huge THANK YOU to the firefighters who came and ate lunch at LCE today. During kindergarten lunch, they were doing their thing hanging and talking with the kids and noticed one of my students with shoes that were full of holes. The firefighters decided to run to the store and buy my student a new pair of gym shoes.

I gave them to her when she came in from recess. I pulled her to the hallway and showed her the shoes and told her where they came from. I told her someone must have thought she was a special little girl to give her such awesome shoes! Her face lit up and she was beyond excited!

It melts my heart that there are such kind-hearted, wonderful people out there. This kind of generosity is not something we see very often. I want to thank you and your staff from the bottom of my heart! We look forward to many more lunches and upcoming surprise mystery readers from the Pierce Firefighters! Thanks again!
