To all New Richmond Exempted Village School District parents:
New Richmond Exempted Village School District and our school buildings have reviewed and revised the School Emergency Operations Plan and as a result we are making parents aware of the Parental Notification Procedures to be implemented in the event of an incident. When emergency first responders arrive at an incident, they will control the site and limit parental access.
In the event of an emergency incident in one of our schools, we will:
Disseminate information via email, CommunitySafe Communications phone system (Add Phone Number Below), Twitter, Facebook, and radio announcements to inform parents about what is known to have happened. If you want your email address added to our bulk email system, please contact our Public Relations Coordinator, Abbey Cherry at Cherry_a@nrschools.org. You only need to do this if you are not already receiving emails from Ms. Cherry. You may also receive information via Twitter (@NREVSD) or (@AdamCBird). By “Liking” our Facebook page, you can also be updated on emergencies.
Implement a plan to manage phone calls and inform parents when they can arrive at school and pick up their student.
Describe how the school and school district are handling the situation.
Provide information regarding possible reactions of their children and ways to talk with them.
Provide a phone number, website address, or recorded hotline where parents can receive updated incident information.
Inform parents and students when and where school will resume.
Please make every attempt to keep your contact information current and notify the school of any changes in your contact information. Please take the time to review this protocol with your student(s) and feel free to contact the school with any questions.
