NRHS Participates in National Teen Driver Safety Week

Last week, New Richmond High School participated in National Teen Driver Safety Week. NRHS and schools all across the country joined together in an effort to raise awareness and seek solutions to preventable teen deaths and injuries on the road.

“Teens are just so distracted and they don’t have the experience,” stated NRHS teacher and SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) Advisor, Mrs. Nehls. “Our distractions have serious ramifications.”

In an effort to draw attention to safe driving practices, our local Sheriff officers performed a seat belt check on cars entering the school premises. As a reward for those practicing safe driving habits, 155 students received a gift card to Chick-Fil-A.

“We really appreciate the Eastgate Chick-Fil-A in their willingness to donate to this cause,” stated Nehl. “I just want to encourage our kids to focus on the road in front of them.”
