Cole Bird to play in East-West All-Star Game

New Richmond High School senior Cole Bird will be putting on football pads one last time when he plays in the Southwestern Ohio Football Coaches Association Ron Woyan East-West All-Star Game Thursday, June 13 at Kings High School. Game time is 7:30 p.m.

Bird, a three-year varsity player for the Lions, will play defensive end on the East Squad to be coached by Batavia head coach Don Sizer.

Despite the expected hot weather in June, Bird is excited about putting on the pads one last time.

"I'm from New Richmond and hot weather doesn't bother us when it comes to football," said Bird, who will attend the University of Cincinnati this fall. "It's an honor to be selected and I'm excited about playing one last football game."

The East roster also includes Southern Buckeye Conference players Zainn Ison and Gabe Archer from Batavia, Gunnar Woodyard from Western Brown, Gabriyel Rice and Robert Boston from Norwood, Clay Cousino from Clermont Northeastern, Marcus Carey from Goshen, Austin Iker from Bethel-Tate and Austin Brown from Amelia.

Rosters and game information is available online on the Southwestern Ohio Football Coaches Association web site
