Chromebook Parent Purchase Program

Chromebook Parent Purchase Program

Dear Parents,

I am writing to inform you of an exciting opportunity for Students in Grades 3-12!

Our District has been working towards purposeful integration of technology into the curriculum areas. This integration has involved your child having access to critical technology tools as they are needed, as opposed to only during a scheduled computer lab period.

This year we have increased the number of Chromebooks available in the classroom in our schools. A Chromebook is a relatively inexpensive laptop computer that connects to the Internet and allows student files to be stored online in the Google Apps educational domain.

We believe that you may be interested in your child having his or her own Chromebook that can be used in all academic classes and be utilized at home with access to assignments and academic work outside of school hours.

As a result, we are encouraging an optional parent-purchase program that will allow you to purchase a Chromebook for your student. This program will allow your child to own his/her individual Chromebook and bring the device to school daily for educational purposes.

Chromebooks are available at a cost of $169 from Amazon.com, Best Buy and Walmart. The devices would be student-owned devices that can be utilized for instruction daily in class.
We recommend the following Chromebook model to purchase for your student at the location of your choice, and have included an optional insurance plan for you to purchase below as well.
