Is There a Doctor in the House? Why yes, yes there is!

Roger Nyam, Middle and High School French Teacher for New Richmond, had the distinct privilege of receiving his Ph.D. in Public Policy and Administration from Atlantic International University. Graduation ceremonies were held on Thursday, August 25th in Miami, Florida.

Dr. Nyam (how cool does that sound?) told us about the importance of education for him, his family, and his native country of Cameroon.

“As a teacher, you never stop learning. Once you stop learning, then you should stop teaching,” said Nyam.

He spoke about specifically focusing on the education of girls, and how the advantage of primary and secondary education best suits them for society.

To offer some perspective, less than 2% of people in the United States have a Ph.D. Dr. Nyam hopes that his relentless pursuit of the highest level of education will inspire his students to believe that anything is possible.
