Football playoff tickets on sale at NRHS
New Richmond Lions will host Mt. Healthy at the Stadium at 7 p.m. Saturday in the first round of the OHSAA Division III Region 12 playoffs. Tickets are on sale at the High School office from today (Nov. 1) until Friday during school hours for the community. Tickets for students will be on sale in the concession stand during lunch periods Wednesday through Friday. Tickets are $8 in advance and $9 at the gate.

Football Parent Meeting May 5
There will be a Parent Meeting for all New Richmond High School football parents with players in grades 10-12 on May 5th at 6:30 in the NRHS Media Center. Every player needs to be represented by at least one parent. 
Four to join Lions Hall of Fame
New Richmond High School’s first Division I college players in football and basketball will join two of the school’s all-time greats in softball and swimming in the 2016 class of the New Richmond Lions Sports Hall of Fame. Thomas Wildey, 1959 graduate who played football at Ohio State; Jeffrey Kuhn, 1962 graduate who played basketball at the University of Cincinnati; Michelle Sweet, 2009 graduate who was a three-sport star in soccer, basketball and softball; and Alex Lewis, 2010 graduate who owns 11 school and league swimming records, will go into the Lions Hall of Fame at the annual induction banquet at 6 p.m. on Jan. 16 in the high school cafeteria. 
Hall of Fame nominations due Dec. 19

Nominations for the New Richmond Lions Sports Hall of Fame are being accepted through Dec. 19. The Hall of Fame inductions will be at 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14 following the 4 p.m. Hall of Fame basketball game against Seven Hills. Anyone wishing to make one or several nominations may obtain nomination forms in the New Richmond High School Athletic Director’s Office or download the form at http://www.nrschools.org/Downloads/nr-hall-nomination.pdf.

New Richmond welcomes back Dwayne Woodruff
New Richmond High School Hall of Famer Dwayne Woodruff returns to his hometown during Homecoming on Oct. 2 to present his Dwayne Woodruff Scholarship to 2015 recipient James Mahan and present a commemorative Wilson Golden Football to New Richmond as part of the nationwide Super Bowl High School Honor Roll initiative recognizing schools and communities that contributed to Super Bowl history and positively impacted the game of football. Woodruff, who was a three-sport star at New Richmond and led the Lions to the 1974 Clermont County League championship, went on to play college football at the University of Louisville and an 11-year career in the NFL as a cornerback for the Pittsburgh Steelers, where he accumulated 37 interceptions after being drafted in the sixth round in 1979. School Board adopts drug testing policy
The Board of Education of the New Richmond Exempted Village School District at its August 17 meeting approved a random drug testing policy for New Richmond High School athletes and students involved in extra-curricular activities. Students in grades 9-12 who participate in athletics, students who participate in extra-curricular activities, students possessing District parking privileges, and students who volunteer will be required to submit to random drug tests administered by a third-party laboratory. The random drug testing policy is available at the link below:

NREVSD mourns loss of Dave Hawkins
Dave Hawkins is being remembered today for his many years of dedicated service to the New Richmond Exempted Village School District which included 22 years as a member of the Board of Education and nearly 30 years of volunteer work. "His positive impact on NREVSD as a Board of Education member will be felt for many years," said Supt. Adam Bird. "Dave has always looked at what is best for our students when casting a vote as a Board member." Mr. Hawkins, 62, died Thursday, July 10, after a long battle with cancer.

Eight New Richmond High School senior athletes signed or made commitments this spring to continue their athletic careers at the college level. They are  Hunter Blankenship, Spalding University in soccer; Hannah Hall, Denison University in track; Levi Simpson, Marietta College in baseball... 
Lions Youth Football Came June 16-18
New Richmond High School head football coach Josh Stratton and his staff will conduct their annual New Richmond Youth Football Camp from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. June 16th-18th at the NRHS Stadium for ages Kindergarten through 6th grade (completed). Make up day will be Thursday June 19. Activities will include skills of passing, catching, blocking, tackling, punting and kicking. Cost is $30. Stratton named district and state coach of year
New Richmond football coach Josh Stratton was named OHSAA Southwest District Division III coach of the year and state Division III co-coach of the year by the Associated Press after leading the Lions to a 9-1 record in his first year at the school.
