Lions Sports Hall of Fame
NR Lions Sports Hall of Fame to Induct Three New Members

New Richmond High School is proud to announce this year's inductees into the New Richmond Lions Sports Hall of Fame. John Callebs, Chris Hawkins  and Judy Middeler will be inducted on January 14, 2017, at the annual induction banquet at 6 p.m. in the high school cafeteria.


Highlights of the day’s events include the following:

11:30am Alumni Basketball Game

1:00pm Freshman Boys vs. Seven Hills

2:30pm JV Boys vs. Seven Hills

4:00pm Varsity Boys vs. Seven Hills with Hall of Fame inductees and former members introduced at halftime

6:00pm Lions Sports Hall of Fame Banquet


Tickets for the banquet are $15 per person and available for purchase at the NRHS office. The deadline for dinner reservations is January 9th.  Please call Doug Foote at 513-553-3191 with questions or to make reservations.


 
Hall of Fame nominations due Dec. 19

Nominations for the New Richmond Lions Sports Hall of Fame are being accepted through Dec. 19. The Hall of Fame inductions will be at 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14 following the 4 p.m. Hall of Fame basketball game against Seven Hills. Anyone wishing to make one or several nominations may obtain nomination forms in the New Richmond High School Athletic Director’s Office or download the form at http://www.nrschools.org/Downloads/nr-hall-nomination.pdf.

 
2016 Hall of Fame Inductions
Jeff Kuhn, Michelle Sweet and Alex Lewis are inducted into the New Richmond Lions Sports Hall of Fame on Saturday, Jan. 16.

 
Four to join Lions Hall of Fame
New Richmond High School’s first Division I college players in football and basketball will join two of the school’s all-time greats in softball and swimming in the 2016 class of the New Richmond Lions Sports Hall of Fame. Thomas Wildey, 1959 graduate who played football at Ohio State; Jeffrey Kuhn, 1962 graduate who played basketball at the University of Cincinnati; Michelle Sweet, 2009 graduate who was a three-sport star in soccer, basketball and softball; and Alex Lewis, 2010 graduate who owns 11 school and league swimming records, will go into the Lions Hall of Fame at the annual induction banquet at 6 p.m. on Jan. 16 in the high school cafeteria. 
School Board adopts drug testing policy
The Board of Education of the New Richmond Exempted Village School District at its August 17 meeting approved a random drug testing policy for New Richmond High School athletes and students involved in extra-curricular activities. Students in grades 9-12 who participate in athletics, students who participate in extra-curricular activities, students possessing District parking privileges, and students who volunteer will be required to submit to random drug tests administered by a third-party laboratory. 2015 Lions Hall of Fame inductions
Joe Moon, Eric McMonigle, Donnie Morrison and Dave Hawkins are inducted into the New Richmond High School Lions Sports Hall of Fame.

 
Four selected for NRHS Hall of Fame
A former coach who delivered league titles in two sports, a three-sport star who exceled in the classroom, a former school board member who set a standard for volunteering and a pitcher who pitched a no-hitter for the school’s first district baseball title make up the 2015 class of the New Richmond Lions Sports Hall of Fame. Joe Moon, Eric McMonigle, Dave Hawkins and Donnie Morrison will be inducted at 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31 at the annual Hall of Fame banquet at the high school which will follow a 4 p.m. varsity basketball game against Ripley. Banquet tickets are $15 and available at the high school. 
Three to join Lions Sports Hall of Fame
Two athletes from the mid-1990s who received Division I college scholarships and the most successful soccer coach in New Richmond High School history will be inducted into the New Richmond Lions Sports Hall of Fame on January 25.
 
2013 Hall of Fame inductees
Tom Behymer (1956), David Duncan (2005), Nate Kramer (2007) and Eric Finan (2007) were inducted at the annual Hall of Fame banquet Jan. 26 following the boys’ varsity basketball game against Bethel.

Lions Hall of Famer Greg Hawkins joins host Jim Reaker and Lions head coach Josh Stratton in the Oct. 24 Roll Pride Show from the Green Kayak in New Richmond.
 
2014 Hall of Fame inductions
John Duncan Jr., Jay Penry and Denny Hopewell were inducted into the New Richmond (Ohio) High School Lions Sports Hall of Fame at the annual Hall of Fame banquet Jan. 25, 2014.

2013 Hall of Fame inductions

State champions Bird, Fender honored
Two-time state discuss champion Ben Bird (1991-1992) and state golf champion Justin Fender (2001) have been honored with wall banners at the New Richmond High School gymnasium. They were honored prior to the Hall of Fame game Jan. 29, 2011.
