Lady Lions head coach Rebecca Heine
New Lady Lions' soccer coach Rebecca Heine brings an extensive resume of coaching and community service to New Richmond. A 2005 graduate of the University of Cincinnati with a B.A. in Communications, Ms. Heine was an assistant coach for four years at her alma mater Taylor High School and is a specialist in goalkeeping with three years of experience coaching at Wiberg Wisconsin Goalkeeping School. She has coached youth soccer in the Cincinnati area and has coached a youth team that includes Middle School girls from New Richmond.
 
She currently works as the Mobile Market Manager for the Freestore Foodbank. Her prior work experience includes Local Food Director and Market Manager for The Findlay Market; Outdoor Experiential Education Instructor at Camp Joy; High Adventure Director at Fenton, Michigan; Wildland Firefighter for the U.S. Forest Service; and a Corps member and Crew Leader for AmerCorps.
 
 Her volunteer work began in high school as a Volunteer in Missions Projects and has continued with involvement in Hoxworth Blood Drives; Into The Streets in Cincinnati; Hunger Task Force in Milwaukee, Wisc.; Big Brothers Big Sisters; and several Habitat for Humanity projects including a  2016 Global Village participant in Trinidad and Tobago.

Four to join Lions Hall of Fame
New Richmond High School’s first Division I college players in football and basketball will join two of the school’s all-time greats in softball and swimming in the 2016 class of the New Richmond Lions Sports Hall of Fame. Thomas Wildey, 1959 graduate who played football at Ohio State; Jeffrey Kuhn, 1962 graduate who played basketball at the University of Cincinnati; Michelle Sweet, 2009 graduate who was a three-sport star in soccer, basketball and softball; and Alex Lewis, 2010 graduate who owns 11 school and league swimming records, will go into the Lions Hall of Fame at the annual induction banquet at 6 p.m. on Jan. 16 in the high school cafeteria. 
Hall of Fame nominations due Dec. 19

Nominations for the New Richmond Lions Sports Hall of Fame are being accepted through Dec. 19. The Hall of Fame inductions will be at 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14 following the 4 p.m. Hall of Fame basketball game against Seven Hills. Anyone wishing to make one or several nominations may obtain nomination forms in the New Richmond High School Athletic Director’s Office or download the form at http://www.nrschools.org/Downloads/nr-hall-nomination.pdf.

 
School Board adopts drug testing policy
The Board of Education of the New Richmond Exempted Village School District at its August 17 meeting approved a random drug testing policy for New Richmond High School athletes and students involved in extra-curricular activities. Students in grades 9-12 who participate in athletics, students who participate in extra-curricular activities, students possessing District parking privileges, and students who volunteer will be required to submit to random drug tests administered by a third-party laboratory. The random drug testing policy is available at the link below:
